Explosion-Proof Rotary Airlocks

DMN explosion-proof rotary airlocks are used in several metering and feeding applications involving powder bulk handling. Explosions due to dust are a potentially deadly and costly risk associated with any process operation that employs powders or bulk solids. Process systems and components often have to be able to withstand explosions and prevent fires from passing through the component. DMN manufactures a range of drop-through and blow-through rotary airlocks designed to be pressure shock-resistant up to 10 Bar and flameproof for St2 products in the event of an explosion. Tight rotor clearances minimize air leakage, thereby reducing the risk of flame propagation. The airlocks have been tested and certified, conforming to ATEX directive 94/9/EC and NFPA 69 standards. USDA-accepted versions are available for industries with strict hygienic requirements. The airlocks can handle temperatures up to 302°F and pressures up to 29 psi.
