Second Edition of Powder Show Digital Flow Announced
Taking place February 18, the one-day free digital event will offer expert-led panel sessions, product tech talks, and networking.
January 15, 2021
Registration is now open for the second edition of Powder Show Digital Flow, an ongoing series of digital events presented by the organizers of the International Powder & Bulk Solids (iPBS) Conference & Exhibition. Taking place Thursday, February 18, the online event will provide technical education, product demonstrations, and virtual networking opportunities to the powder & bulk solids processing community. Online attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the practical benefits of Industry 5.0 technologies in dry manufacturing processes, learn how to make an effective business case for dust hazard analysis, and get a data-driven look at how the pandemic is driving changes in global supply chain strategies and the impacts to the powder & bulk solids sector.
The upcoming digital event follows iPBS’ new hybrid approach of offering both in-person and digital events to provide added value for members of the powder & bulk solids processing community. “As we look to this new year, we’re committed to serving this essential community of engineers, scientists, and equipment manufacturers via a 365-approach leveraging both in-person and digital touchpoints,” said Steve Everly, iPBS Group Event Director. “iPBS has for 44 years been the only place in the Western Hemisphere for experts in this critical sector to gather, share knowledge, and connect with potential customers. Expanding into the digital realm extends our reach beyond the biennial live event, better catering to the powder and bulk solids community all-year-around.”
Like many industries, the powder and bulk solids sector was greatly impacted by the pandemic, revealing the critical need for the industry to implement more advanced manufacturing technologies. The upcoming Powder Show Digital Flow will kick off with a keynote session addressing the opportunities that lie ahead in the processing industry, and what role advanced manufacturing technologies will play to drive greater safety, agility, and profitability in the processing industries. Additional sessions will focus on topics such as how the food and beverage industry are using technologies like AI, robotics, and advanced human-machine "interfaces" to adapt in a time of crisis, combustible dust control, 3D printing, robotics, automation, and much more.
The full agenda can be viewed here and below.
Keynote: The International Powder & Bulk Solids Sector in 2021 and Beyond (8–9 a.m. CST)
The powder & bulk solids sector is about to undergo massive change. Attend our opening keynote to hear what opportunities lie ahead, and what role advanced manufacturing technologies will play to drive greater safety, agility, and profitability in the processing industries.
Ask the Experts: Advanced Manufacturing Tech for Powder & Bulk Solids Handling (9–10 a.m. CST)
Have questions about advanced manufacturing in your dry manufacturing process? Attend this session to raise questions and get expert insights.
Industry 5.0 for Food & Beverage Processing (10–11 a.m. CST)
Learn how the food and beverage industry are using technologies like AI, robotics and advanced human-machine "interfaces" to adapt in a time of crisis— and how they’ll use those same technologies to become more agile, safe, and profitable in 2021 and beyond.
Innovation Power Hour (11 a.m.–12 p.m. CST)
Hear from process equipment experts driving innovation in the sector. See demonstrations of cutting-edge equipment and learn how to improve your process, enhance your ability to manage risk, ensure safety, and be more profitable.
Roundtable Networking (12–1 p.m. CST)
Enjoy some facetime as you meet new people and reconnect with colleagues at the Roundtable Networking session. Moderated discussions explore the industry’s most pressing topics such as combustible dust control, 3D printing, robotics, automation, and more.
Understanding and Controlling Size Reduction in Processing or Milling — a Mechanistic View (1–2 p.m. CST)
This session will address controlling breakage of material in processes, including milling. When we understand what causes a particular material to break and how it breaks, we can use that knowledge to understand/predict how a particular material might behave in a mill or other prescribed process.
Tech Talks (2–3 p.m. CST)
Get up to speed on core concepts of powder & bulk solids handling and dry processing, an industrial sector that touches 70% of everything humans use. Gain practical insight through equipment demonstrations and connect with the experts you need to build your process and keep it running.
How to Make a Business Case for Dust Hazard Analyses and Combustion Control (3–4 p.m. CST)
With DHAs up for renewal every five years, plant owners must proactively manage the true cost of combustible dust hazards. Attend this session to better understand DHA requirements in risk management terms and how to drive accountability at the best price.
