Changes to NFPA 68 and How They Can Affect Your Explosion Protection Design
Dr. Ashok Ghose Dastidar, Fauske & Associates LLC

On November 29, 2018 at 2pm Eastern/11am Pacific, Dr. Ashok Ghose Dastidar, vice president, dust & flammability testing and consulting services, Fauske & Associates LLC, will present "Changes to NFPA 68 in the 2018 Revision and How They Can Affect Your Explosion Protection Design" as part of Powder & Bulk Solids' DryPro free webinar series.

The new version of NFPA 68 has made some slight modifications to the design equations that could affect the calculated vent size under special circumstances. Given the fact that NFPA 68 is a standard, your calculations for new explosion mitigation designs should be reflecting these changes so as to comply with fire and building codes.

This webinar will include a 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute Q&A

Dr. Dastidar specializes in chemical process hazards analysis, flammable dusts, liquids & vapors explosion and combustion hazards analysis and testing and electrostatic hazards analysis. He has extensive technical experience performing tests and analyzing data to determine electrostatic hazards, dust explosibility hazards, flammability hazards, thermal stability and reactivity hazards, and hazard analysis and risk mitigation. Dr. Dastidar has published 12 articles and presented at more than 23 conferences. He has a Ph.D., Chemical Engineering, Dalhousie University, an M.A.Sc., Chemical Engineering, Technical University of Nova Scotia, M.B.A, Management Science, Saint Mary's University, and a B.S., Honors in Chemistry.
