Crews Respond to Fire at Diamond Chemical Plant

Firefighters were dispatched to the East Rutherford, NJ cleaning and sanitizing products factory early Friday morning.

Crews were called to the Diamond Chemical Co. Inc. complex in East Rutherford, NJ in the early hours of Friday morning after receiving a report of a possible fire in a warehouse.

Sent to the facility around 3 a.m., firefighters found that the building’s sprinkler system activated before they arrived, the East Rutherford Fire Department said in a post to its Facebook page. The two-alarm fire was quickly doused.

No injuries were documented during the incident, the Rutherford Daily Voice reported.

Diamond Chemical manufactures chemical-based cleaning and sanitizing products at its 150,000-sq-ft complex in East Rutherford, according to information on the firm’s website. In addition to manufacturing assets, the location also houses offices, labs, and warehouse operations.
