16 people reportedly died in a large fire Friday at a chemical manufacturing facility in Karachi, Pakistan, coverage by local and international news organizations said.

Workers became trapped on the plant’s second floor as the blaze broke out because windows were blocked shut, Reuters reported in the wake of the incident. Flames ignited on the first floor of the three-story structure.

Part of the building collapsed during the fire, an account by Al Jazeera noted. The blaze was fueled by a flammable chemical.

Reports did not include the name of the business that operates the plant.
