Chemical Firm Acquires $16M Site for New Production Plant

Chemicals manufacturer Scott Bader announced Monday that it has purchased a 100,000-sq-ft facility in Mocksville, NC to convert into a new structural adhesives and gelcoats production plant.

“This latest investment makes clear our commitment to the North American market, as well as to our global growth strategy,” Art Murphy, sales director for Scott Bader North America, said in a release. “It comes as we also invest $2 million in Canada. We now have the additional capacity to be more responsive to customer needs and leverage the interest in our primer-less structural adhesives – amplifying the success we’ve already had with the portfolio.”

The 15-acre location will produce a variety of Scott Bader’s offerings in GMP conditions. Operations are expected to begin at the facility in the first quarter of 2023. 27 new jobs will be created as a result of the project.

Scott Bader’s plant in Mocksville plant will be its second in North America.
