The long-established German-based company Schenck Process is moving into a more sustainable future after the carve-out of its food solutions to Hillenbrand/Coperion.

The expert for process-critical bulk solids applications is now focusing 100% on its core competencies of weighing and feeding technology with more than 300 patents, as well as further developed digital applications. New and green process technologies are to contribute to a climate-neutral circular economy in the target industries of chemicals, high-performance materials, cement, steel, and energy, with further optimized customer service.

Under the leadership of new CEO Dr. Jörg Ulrich, Schenck Process is ushering in a new era. "The business units in Europe, China, and India will benefit greatly from the new size of the company, which has changed from 2,500 to 1,100 employees," said Jörg Ulrich. "We combine our premium products, our bulk solids expertise, our advanced digital solutions, and our global reach with the advantages of a medium-sized company in terms of focus, agility, reliability, high-performing teams, and proximity to our customers."

Focus on R&D

Schenck Process is now leveraging its regional strengths and talents even more, especially in research and development in the field of circular economy and green technologies. "Sustainability is becoming the core of our Schenck Process DNA," said Manfred Bruckner, managing director Schenck Process Europe GmbH. "Our mission is to develop new sustainable technologies that help our customers achieve the requirements in terms of climate neutrality and process efficiency by 2050. In this context, we see the greatest growth potential in efficient battery feeding, waste to energy, sustainable steel and cement processes, and digital solutions in the area of predictive maintenance and integrated logistics control."

Precision Key to More Sustainable Process Technologies

99.5% feeding accuracy, 80% less downtime, and already 20% energy savings: This is current data that proves the efficiency of Schenck Process' technology and methodology. "For us, sustainability also means striving for efficiency," said Peter Groll, CTO Schenck Process. "We promise our customers more process accuracy, lower energy consumption, and the use of fewer resources with low downtimes. Our products and applications will be increasingly data-driven, connected and intelligent to optimize these mission-critical processes."
