Crews were sent to a cabinet manufacturing plant in East Providence, RI last Friday after an explosion occurred at the facility and a fire ignited in a dust hopper, local news reports said.

Fire officials told NBC News affiliate WJAR that firefighters responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. and discovered a fire in a dust hopper outside the plant upon arrival. The flames had extended inside the building.

The two-alarm fire was swiftly doused and no injuries were documented, coverage by news broadcaster WPRI said.

Fire Chief Glenn Quick said in WJAR’s account that the structure formerly housed a wood pellet firm.

An investigation into the cause of the blast and blaze has been opened by the East Providence Fire Marshal.
