Tyson Foods Inc. named Monica McGurk senior vice president of strategy and new ventures, who will oversee the company’s strategic planning and new business efforts, the Springdale, AK-based company announced on Wednesday.
Reporting to Tyson Foods president and CEO Donnie Smith, McGurk’s transition into the new role will be aided by senior leader Hal Carper.
“[McGurk] comes to us as a result of a long career of proven performance in strategic roles, and we believe her extensive experience will help us continue to grow as a value-added food company,” said Smith.
Most recently, McGurk served as a senior vice president of strategy, decision support and e-commerce for the Coca-Cola Company’s North American Group. She spent 19 years at McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm, focusing on consumer and retail sectors. McGurk holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University.
