Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society Sponsors Powder & Bulk Solids Texas

The newly incorporated Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society will sponsor UBM Canon’s inaugural Powder & Bulk Solids Texas tradeshow that will be held at the Reliant Center in Houston, October 15-16, 2013. This event covers a range of product and service offerings for the manufacturing of food, petro-chemicals, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fabricated metals, paint, cement/lime/asphalt, and fertilizers.

Within the Houston region, there are 406 chemical plants and 300 food manufacturing plants. The area is also home to 30% of the state’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. With a population of 5.6 million, the Houston area produces 30% of Texas’ total output, and is second only to New York as the largest export region.

“UBM Canon’s expertise in producing successful, large tradeshow events ideally complements the Society’s members’ experience in serving the rapidly growing Texas process manufacturing market,” said According to Jerry Lemire, president of the Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society. “We are pleased to support the event.”

Powder & Bulk Solids Texas is one of UBM Canon’s six co-located Texas Advanced Manufacturing tradeshows that provide a comprehensive manufacturing event for visitors and exhibitors. These events also include AeroCon (aviation/aerospace), TexasPack (packaging), PLASTEC Texas (plastics), ATX Texas (automation technology), and Design & Manufacturing Texas. More than 400 exhibiting companies are expected to showcase innovative new product and service offerings, including revolutionary categories such as 3D printing.

Powder & Bulk Solids Texas is also supported by the Process Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA).

UBM Canon is the leading producer of trade events and media brands that support the flow of information, commerce, and innovation in the world's $3 trillion advanced, technology-based manufacturing sector, including the medical device, packaging, design engineering, process technology, automated assembly, electronics, quality control, and plastics processing segments.

The Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society was formed in 1989, to bring together vendors and engineers in the Houston and Texas Gulf Coast area, in order to enhance the knowledge of bulk solids handling equipment and techniques. Throughout the history of the Society, monthly meetings have been held for social and continuing education opportunities, featuring discussions on the state of the art in bulk materials handling, via presentations by vendors, engineers, and other professionals in the field of bulk materials handling. They have provided scholarships to students, and have presented a biennial trade show, with exhibitors and speakers, to provide up-to-date information on bulk solids handling.
