Officials said sawdust fueled a blaze that started in a silo and conveying system last Saturday morning at the Vicksburg Forest Products sawmill in Vicksburg, MS, according to local news organizations.

Flames ignited during a production process at the facility just before noon, Fire Chief Craig Danczyk told the Vicksburg Post. The official said in a report by television news station WJTV that crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to product, but the building sustain some minor damage.

Several area fire departments also responded to the incident. No injuries were logged during the fire.

Vicksburg Forest Products’ facility in Vicksburg produces lumber from Southern Yellow Pine, information on the company’s website said. The sawmill, formerly operated by Anderson-Tully, was purchased by Vicksburg Forest Products in June 2018.
