Chinese Polysulfone Maker Enters North American Market

A Chinese producer of Polysulfone polymers, UJU New Materials Co. Ltd., recently signed a distributor and importer agreement with Conventus Polymers LLC to bring its products to North American markets.

The company, headquarted in China’s Guangdong province, is attempting to solve what it describes as “North America’s Polysulfone crisis.” The past few years have seen increasing demand for Polysulfone, and meeting the demand has been a challenge for many of the world’s producers like Solvay and BASF, the company said in a recent press release.

“We patiently waited to enter North America until we had received important regulatory approvals, such as NSF, FDA, ISO10993, and many others,” said Steven Xu, vice president of sales and marketing at UJU New Materials. “We are confident our product performs equally or better to many of the common grades being used today.”

UJU New Materials is working with custom compounders in North America to provide its customers with custom colors in its Polysulfone products.
