Cargill Invests $32M in Texas Feed Plant Expansion

American agribusiness Cargill will begin work on a $32 million project to expand its Temple, TX feed plant this March that will add cattle feed production capabilities to the facility.

A Cargill Feed and Nutrition official told Feed Navigator that Cargill’s investment is in response to meet growing demand for cattle feed in Texas. The Temple plant currently produces poultry feed.

“We will be able to support the current production demands while increasing capacities and capabilities [will leave us better able] to serve our ag retail and beef customers in central and north Texas,” US business leader for Cargill Feed and Nutrition James Jarzombek said in trade publication’s report.

Slated to become operational in 2019, the expansion will create about 30 new jobs at the site, according to coverage by WATTAgNet.com.
