International Food Protection Training Institute Unveils New Web Site

The International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI), the leader in delivering career-spanning, standards-based food protection training, has announced the launch of its new and improved Web site: www.ifpti.org.

Increasing demand for IFPTI’s training programs necessitated the site’s overhaul. In 2010, IFPTI trained over 1100 food protection officials from 47 states. Working with FDA, IFPTI is building the training infrastructure for the national integrated food safety system.

IFPTI’s site has been updated with a new layout and added features. The new site allows easy access to the 2011 Course Schedule, training updates, and course registration. The site also boasts media updates and a new social network portal for visitors to discuss food safety issues on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

“The new Web site is the centerpiece of IFPTI’s expanded online presence,” said Joan Bowman, communications director. “Whether you are registering for courses, learning about our latest news and events, or joining the current food safety conversation through our social network, the time spent on our Web site will be more efficient.”

IFPTI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization delivering standards-based, career-spanning food protection training for state and local food protection professionals to assure competency and equivalency in meeting established U.S. federal food safety standards. The Institute, a member of the Global Food Protection Institute, seeks to protect the public's health by building the training infrastructure for the national integrated food protection system that ensures the safety of the U.S. food supply. IFPTI’s training facilities are located in Western Michigan University’s Kendall Center in Battle Creek, MI. Initial funding for IFPTI has been provided by a grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
