Howden North America Announces Move from Camden to Columbia

Howden North America Inc., a world supplier of fans, rotary heat exchangers, compressors, and gas handling equipment for the biomass, cement, HVAC, iron & steel, mining, navy & maritime, nuclear, petrochemical, power, transportation, and tunnel ventilation industries, is relocating its corporate office from Camden, SC to Columbia, SC. The company, formerly known as Howden Buffalo Inc., also announced that it will now be known as Howden North American Inc.

The company, which employs 89 people and moved to Camden in 1999, will move into 18,200-sq-ft office space later this month. The building was built in 1990 and has approximately 800 employees. Howden’s employees will move in to the building on Friday, September 24. They will open for business on Monday, September 27.

“This is an economic and business decision to better meet the demands of our customers and employees,” said Karl Kimmerling, president and CEO of Howden North America Inc. “The new facility offers us flexibility to adapt with market dynamics. It is a modernized building with improved functionality and it is closer to the vast majority of our employee’s homes. Additionally, the location provides better access to an international airport and attracts a larger pool of potential employees from Lexington, Columbia, and the University of South Carolina. We are proud to call it home.”
