Fontarome Chemical Names New COO

Mark Magnarini has been named chief operating officer of Fontarôme Chemical Inc., a Milwaukee-based custom manufacturer and international supplier of fine ingredients for use in the pharmaceutical and flavor and fragrance industries.

In his new position, Magnarini will be responsible for all aspects of operations management, including research & development and purchasing. Magnarini joined the company in 2008 as vice president of operations where he oversaw production and production control, distribution, process support and facilities and equipment management. He has more than 30 years experience in the custom/contract manufacturing industry.

In his previous positions at leading manufacturing organizations in the Milwaukee area, Magnarini introduced and implemented lean manufacturing concepts and systems that focused on operations excellence and continuous improvement. That focus led to business growth and increased profitability at each of the companies where he held leadership positions.

As vice president of operations at Fontarôme, Magnarini brought lean manufacturing systems to the company and helped develop short and long-term strategic business plans.

“It’s immensely satisfying working with Fontarôme because Carl Sheeley, the company owner, has a bold and exciting vision for the business,” said Magnarini. “In my new position, I’m working closely with Carl to help him grow the company.”
