Small-Batch, Quick-Clean Sifter
The Ultra Sanitary Mini Centri-Sifter centrifugal sifter for screening small batches of pharmaceutical powders and other contamination-sensitive products, can be disassembled rapidly and sanitized manually or in an autoclave. In less than three minutes, the unit’s cylindrical screen/spout assembly and feed screw/paddle assembly can be removed with three hand knobs, and the screening chamber with one bolt, providing access to sanitize all material contact surfaces. As material is gravity-fed into the unit, rotating helical paddles accelerate particles, continuously propelling them against the cylindrical screen and through screen apertures. On-size material discharges through the first of two outlets, into a storage vessel or processing equipment. The paddle assembly, which does not contact the screen, also serves to break-up agglomerated materials. Oversized particles unable to pass through the apertures, exit through the end of the screen cylinder and fall through a second outlet for discarding or re-processing. Cylindrical screens are offered in woven nylon, monofilament, wire mesh stainless steel, perforated plate, and stainless steel wedge wire, to accommodate a wide range of pharmaceutical products. Fluidizer Disk
The Model MFD Micro Fluidizer Disk combines aeration and vibration to solve the most difficult bulk solid flow applications. The micro disk is half the size of a standard disk, capable of fitting into tight locations. The special design creates a vibration as the air flows between the pads boot and bin wall. This provides an effective flow aid for all types of dry products. Furthermore, the MFD does not require a specific air pressure for operation. Pneumatic system pressure can range from 29 to 87 psi.
