Thiele Technologies Announces $1.5 Million Bagging System Order

Thiele Technologies Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-speed packaging equipment solutions headquartered in Minneapolis, has announced the receipt of a $1.5 million order placed by a prominent pet food manufacturer for three new bagging systems located in each of its three manufacturing cities. Thiele supplies equipment to the pet food industry and continues to be the exclusive vendor for bag filling and bag palletizing systems to this fast-growing customer.

Each new system includes Thiele’s four-station UltraStar, as well as conveyors and spare parts. This Star series bagging machine is configured with internal paper and poly bag-sealing stations, allowing for increased efficiency compared to external sealers. Thiele uses a servo-driven lower conveyor and upper retention drives to transfer the bag to and from the sealing stations, giving customers precise transfers and total bag top control. Allen Bradley HMI and PLC products create a simple, central control system. Pre-charge product filling creates less dust and reduces air in the bag. These systems also include fully automated bag deflation systems. 
 
“Our competition worked very hard to unseat Thiele with this customer,” said Bob Odom, Thiele flexible business unit vice president. “However, at the end of the day, our proven track record, system of continuous improvement and quality of aftermarket parts and service support won the order for Thiele.” 
 
These high-speed packaging lines will be built at Thiele’s Northeast Minneapolis facility and are scheduled to be delivered and installed beginning in May 2010. When complete, Thiele will have nearly 250 Star series machines in operation globally.
