Pharma Tech Industries (PTI), the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturer and packager of powder products in the world, has hired long-time quality professional Ashok Ajmani as its new senior director of quality.

In this role, Ajmani will direct all aspects of PTI’s Corporate Quality System – including quality assurance, quality control, quality engineering and regulatory affairs – at the company’s two contract manufacturing plant locations in Royston, GA and Union, MO.

At Pharma Tech Industries, Ajmani’s responsibilities will include designing and executing corporate-level quality policies and procedures, as well as implementing continuous quality improvement plans consistent with a multifaceted manufacturing environment – one that includes the manufacture and packaging of Rx, OTC, medical device, cosmetic, and consumer disposables.

Ajmani has 23 years of experience in management-level quality control at some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers, including a 16-year tenure at Merck & Co., where he managed the systems-based site audit program and site compliance plan at the company’s Albany, GA facility.

Following his time with Merck, Ajmani served five years as senior manager of quality assurance for Boehringer Ingelheim Inc.  Most recently, he held the title of senior director of quality assurance at Pall Corp. in Pensacola, FL.

At both Merck & Co.pany and Boehringer Ingelheim, Ajmani was recognized for his exceptional performance during GMP inspections on multiple occasions. He also has completed several skill-bolstering continuing education courses, including leadership development programs, manager coaching courses, and training for Six Sigma Green Belt – a distinction unique to the quality control sector.

“Increasingly, PTI is a one-stop shop for our customers because we offer a full spectrum of services across a variety of regulatory classes such as blending, packaging, component molding, packaging, and final production and analytical and microbial testing,” said Tee Noland, chairman of Pharma Tech Industries. “The more diverse our menu of offerings gets, the more challenging the task to make sure we maintain the high levels of quality and service that customers associate with PTI. That’s why we tapped Ashok – a talented industry veteran with a sterling reputation.”

Ajmani earned a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and also spent two years at Georgia Tech completing several doctoral level chemistry classes. A father of three, he resides in Pace, FL with his wife, Assunta Marie.

Pharma Tech Industries (PTI) has been serving the supply chain needs of leading global pharmaceutical and personal care companies with manufacturing, packaging, and molding services for more than 40 years. Today PTI is the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturer of powder-based products in the world, with extensive background in technology transfers.

PTI currently serves over a dozen clients in two cGMP facilities located in Royston, GA and Union, MO, and produces more than 300 SKUs of powders, effervescent, and solid dose products, as well as cotton swabs and injection-molded components.
