Mondi Increases Bag Capacity in Mexico by 50 Million Annually

Mondi in North America has increased its industrial bag manufacturing capacity in Mexico by approximately 50 million bags per year with the addition of a Windmoeller and Hoelscher 2379 in-line production line at its Chihuahua, Mexico plant, and a Windmoeller and Hoelscher 2378 at its Tehuacan, Mexico plant.

Equipped with automatic palletizers, the production lines support Mondi in North America’s ability to accommodate additional business in the U.S., primarily in the cement and building products, as well as chemical and mineral sectors.

“The new equipment increases our bag manufacturing flexibility and capacity, and improves our bag product quality,” said Carlos Schleske, managing director for Mondi’s Mexico Industrial Bags North America Div. “We have strengthened our ability to meet our customers’ needs for innovative industrial bag solutions and fast turnaround. The new equipment reflects Mondi’s commitment to investing in the Mexico industrial bag packaging sector and the company‘s future growth both in Mexico and the U.S.”

The W&H 2379 production line went online in Chihuahua in April 2014, while the W&H 2378 line in Tehuacan is scheduled to go live September 2014.
