Conveying Equipment Orders Drop in November

Orders decreased 36.5% compared to November 2021, 11.85% compared to October 2022

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its November 2022 booked orders decreased by 36.5% when compared to November 2021 and 11.85% compared to October 2022. October 2022 booked orders had decreased 46.28% compared to September 2022.

November 2022 booked orders for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 4.11% compared to October 2022. November 2022 booked orders for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 15.96% when compared to October 2022.

CEMA’s November 2022 billed sales (shipments) decreased by 18.12% compared to November 2021. November 2022 billed sales decreased 6.67% compared to October 2022. This contrasts with the October 2022 decrease of 2.44% when compared to September 2022.

November 2022 billed sales for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 11.93% when compared to October 2022. The Bulk Handling decrease follows a 1.7% decrease for October 2022 vs. September 2022. November 2022 billed sales for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 5% when compared to October 2022. The billed sales for Unit Handling’s decrease compares to a decrease of 2.67% for the previous month (October 2022) vs. September 2022.
