Conveying Equipment Orders Drop 46%

Booked orders decreased by 25.55% when compared to April 2021

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its April 2022 booked orders decreased by 25.55% when compared to April 2021 and 46.05% compared to March 2022. March 2022 booked orders had increased 41.27% compared to February 2022.

April 2022 booked orders for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 14% compared to March 2022. April 2022 booked orders for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 58.79% when compared to March 2022.

CEMA’s April 2022 billed sales (shipments) decreased by 12.69% compared to April 2021. April 2022 billed sales decreased 22.65% compared to March 2022 billed sales. This contrasts with the March 2022 increase of 40.31% when compared to February 2022.

April 2022 billed sales for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 13.04% when compared to March 2022. The Bulk Handling decrease follows a 25.23% increase for March 2022 vs. February 2022. April 2022 billed sales for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 24.75% when compared to March 2022. The billed sales for Unit Handling’s decrease compares to an increase of 44.09% for last month (March 2022) vs. February 2022.
