Labelmaster Partners with Instructional Technologies to Launch Online Hazmat Training Program

Labelmaster, a developer, manufacturer, and distributor of hazardous materials and regulatory compliance products, has teamed up with Instructional Technologies of Vancouver, Washington, to launch an online hazmat training program in the U.S. for professional truck drivers.

Highly experienced in compliance issues relating to shipping hazardous materials, Labelmaster has completed beta testing the program. The product will be marketed and sold under the name Online Transportation Training.

“We have fully tested this program and are convinced that it is the best online hazmat training available for helping drivers to meet the federal re-certification requirements for shipping hazmat,” said Dwight Curtis, president of Labelmaster. “Labelmaster is proud to market the program because it presents the information from the trucker’s point of view in a user-friendly format.”

The interactive, four-lesson set meets the training requirements under Parts 172.700 – 172.704CFR 49 in a new interactive format. The material is highly visual and contains practical exercises and a review of the company security plan. The program not only meets the federal requirements but trains the driver as well. The training, which follows the successful and widely accepted Pro-TREAD format, consists of four lessons: Communication Rules; Loading and Placarding; Driving and Parking Rules; and Hazmat Security Awareness, which must also include a review of the company’s unique security plan.

When all lessons have been completed, a Certificate of Training will be issued in the driver’s name for inclusion in his or her training file. Several of the fleet safety and hazmat professionals who reviewed the lessons gave them glowing reviews, one saying it was the finest hazmat training he had ever seen.
