A blaze broke out in a dust collection system at the IMS Engineered Products manufacturing plant in Des Plains, IL last Saturday morning, prompting a response from area fire crews, according to coverage in the Des Plaines Journal & Topics.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene just after 6 a.m. and found thick smoke in part of the structure, a fire official told the newspaper. The building was ventilated during the response.
No injuries were logged during the incident. The blaze is thought to be accidental in nature, Journal & Topics reported.
IMS Engineered Products is a designer and manufacturer of sheet metal parts and assemblies, information on the company’s website states. The company’s production plant in Des Plaines has 290,000 sq ft of space.
