Firefighters were sent to the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) soybean processing plant in Mexico, MO after a fire ignited in the attic of a machine shed Sunday morning.

Staff called emergency personnel at 10:07 a.m. after finding the fire, the Mexico Department of Public Safety said in a release posted to its Facebook page.

“The fire was contained and extinguished with only the immediate area receiving fire damage,” the agency wrote. “It appeared the fire was started by some work being done in the shed.”

No injuries occurred during the fire, according to officials.

ADM’s soybean processing plant in Mexico, MO is located near its barge loading terminals in St. Louis and Quincy, IL.
