Tyson Foods Plant Worker Dies in Industrial Accident

The man was fatally injured when they became trapped between a semi-trailer and a loading dock at the site.

A 54-year-old man worker died in an industrial accident Thursday morning at the Tyson Foods meat processing plant in Sherman, TX, according to a report by local television news station KXII.

The victim, identified as Jerry Hickman, was fatally injured after they became lodged between a semi-trailer and a loading dock as the trailer was moving into position at about 11:30 a.m., law enforcement officials toldthe broadcaster. He was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.

An investigation has been opened into the incident.

Tyson’s Sherman facility produces beef and pork sub-primal cuts, ground beef and pork products, and modified atmosphere tray packs, according to information on the firm’s website.
