Snack and baking nuts, trail mixes, and dried fruit manufacturer SunTree Snack Foods is preparing to expand its production footprint with the addition of a new, $10 million facility in Goldsboro, NC, enabling the firm to boost its capacity and presence in the East Coast market.

“The addition of this East Coast facility will allow us to efficiently serve the eastern US distribution centers for national and regional retailers, and the expanded capacity will reduce lead times for our customers and minimize the ecological impact of long-haul shipping,” Jeff Vogel, the company’s chief executive officer, said in a recent release issued by the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC). “We look forward to continuing our company’s growth and partnership with the state as we expand our market share in this geographic area.”

94 new jobs are expected to be created as the new facility becomes operational, including roles in production, machine operations, management, and administration. The average annual salary for these positions will be $50,742.

The One North Carolina Fund is contributing $250,000 to assist the local government in supporting SunTree’s expansion.
