New ASHRAE Standard 199 Dust Testing Services

Camfil APC recently expanded its testing lab with equipment dedicated for ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 199 testing. The company now uses the ASHRAE testing methodology, which requires specific dust types of be fed into a collector at a specified rate and to a specified differential pressure, and then proceed through pulse cleaning, several cycles of dust loading, and a simulated upset condition to generate performance data.

With this equipment and methodology, manufacturers can have a battery of tests performed on their specific dust samples, including simulated challenges. Camfil APC’s test lab can provide real world, apples-to-apples comparison data on emissions, pressure drop, compressed air usage, energy consumption, and emission readings. Dust collectors that are designed based on facts rather than guesswork perform as required with lower energy and operating expenses.
