Last month, Powder & Bulk Solids toured the Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center located in Salina, KS.
As part of the open house in June, Kansas State University provided a walking tour map along with a detailed list of materials and equipment provided to the center. More than 25 companies donated more than $2.5 million in equipment and time and materials in order to make the Innovation Center a reality. Below and in the next few pages you will find a more detailed list of what equipment is available at the center, what rooms and facilities are available, and a list of the many companies that worked on this project, which is expected to combine education and industry to further research and understanding in the bulk solids field.

Instead of individual wires running from each device to the control PLC, an Ethernet loop is used to communicate all signals, so only one 24VDC power cable and one Ethernet cable is required. Future expansion will be easy since new devices can be plugged into the existing loop. |
