Dantherm Filtration Receives ATEX Certification

In addition to having achieved ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications, Dantherm Filtration has become the first dust collection company in the U.S. who is approved to manufacture ATEX certified products. ATEX stands for ATmosphere EXplosive. It can be utilized to meet NFPA standards and is an internationally recognized certification for products used in potentially explosive environments.

In the European Union, the law requires equipment to be ATEX certified if it may be exposed to combustible dust or possible explosive concentrations of gas, vapor, or mist in the air. Although there is currently no testing certification required in the U.S., American manufacturers are seeing the need and benefits of using equipment that has been explosion tested and has achieved ATEX certification.

“We are currently offering ATEX compliant safety devices and components for dust collection for dry air filtration applications and will expand upon our offering in the near future,” said Rob Williamson, technical director of Dantherm Filtration,
