Thermal processing engineering services and technology provider Bühler Aeroglide recently named Jason Pintuff as its new director of process engineering, the company announced in a press release this week. In addition, the firm appointed Tom Barber as its new vice president of capital sales.

As director of process engineering, Jason Pintuff will direct Bühler Aeroglide’s process development group, a growing center of competence that helps start-ups design winning products, combined with system evaluations and training aligned with worldwide laboratory and innovation resources.

Pintuff joined Aeroglide in 2005 as a field engineer and was later appointed to process engineering to serve the feed market as an applications specialist. In 2011, Pintuff began supporting sales for the food and feed industries, and most recently, served as regional sales manager and then process development manager.

“These appointments will strengthen our global strategy for long-term growth, said Bühler Aeroglide President and CEO Andy Sharpe. “Tom has a deep understanding of our business as it grows in scope and complexity, and Jason is well suited to direct process engineering so that our customers can operate successful food, feed and industrial processes.”

As vice president of capital sales, Barber will direct sales strategies and market development initiatives for Bühler Aeroglide's full range of capital equipment and services.

Barber’s 23-year tenure with Bühler began as market manager for the grain, pet food and aqua culture feed business, followed by regional director, before an appointment as global vice president of sales for Bühler’s Pasta and Extruded Products business unit in Switzerland. Barber then served as vice president of global procurement for Bühler Aeroglide, and most recently, vice president of process engineering. Barber has published over 25 articles and textbook chapters on thermal processing for food, feed and industrial products, and has two US patents and one European patent.

Bühler Aeroglide manufactures dryers, ovens, roasters, toasters, and hot air expansion systems for the food, feed and industrial product markets. Since 1940, the company has been providing innovations for a better world in the form of high-quality thermal processing equipment. As a business unit of Bühler, Aeroglide is headquartered in Cary, NC, and provides sales and service for its industry-leading equipment in more than 140 countries around the world.
