OxyChem Exec Appointed COO of Chevron Phillips Chemical

Chemicals manufacturer Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (CPChem) announced this week that B.J. Hebert was named executive vice president and chief operating officer. Slated to join the company on November 1, he most recently served as president of Occidental Chemical Company (OxyChem).

“B.J. is a proven leader who brings to CPChem deep industry experience with a demonstrated track record of driving safe, reliable operations and business growth,” Mark Lashier, president and CEO of CPChem, said in a company release. “His passion for talent development and continuous improvement through innovation will enhance the company’s ability to achieve our vision and be the employer, supplier, neighbor and investment of choice.”

Starting his career at Vista Chemicals, the executive has worked in industry for over three decades. Over his time at OxyChem, Hebert held a variety of roles, including senior vice president, basic chemicals; vice president and general manager, vinyls; and manufacturing director, chemicals. He became president of OxyChem in 2017.

“Under B.J.’s leadership, our manufacturing and commercial organizations will be well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our global customer base as we advance our strategy to grow sustainably,” Lashier said.
