Rotary airlocks are often incorporated into bulk bag unloading systems.

In this application the rotary airlock accomplishes two purposes. First, it serves as the airlock between the hopper and the pneumatic conveying line. Second, it acts as a feeder, dispensing the correct batch amount into the conveying line which is weight based.

The entire system is mounted onto load cells and communicates with the A-B PLC system to dispense the correct amount of product per recipe/batch. Within this majors batching system there are six rotary valves, while a total of 64 rotary valves were provided within the system.
