The new Raymond ultra fine mill system is designed to produce fine powders used in fillers, coatings, and pigments. Capable of generating products as fine as 50% passing 2 microns or as coarse as 50% passing 10 microns, the unit is an air-swept vertical ring mill with integral classification. A vertical shaft rotates convex rolls inside concave grinding rings to grind material to high fineness in multiple stages. Air is introduced to carry the ground material through the classification process to achieve the desired product fineness. Features of the ultra fine mill include efficient, ultra-fine grinding with low specific energy consumption, low classifier speed, high fineness separation, compact mill and classifier arrangement, and versatile grinding element configurations to suit product requirements. Construction features include an independent mill speed reducer, noise reduction, product collector, and system control.
