Marion Mixers has partnered with AMTek Microwave to design and manufacture microwave vessel heating systems for the processing industries. The new microwave mixer includes Marion Mixers’ paddle-style agitator and AMTek’s patented volumetric microwave system. This new design may achieve higher quality blending and mixing for powder applications at lower costs than conventional heating and drying methods. For product sanitary and hygienic requirements, 3A-sanitary compliant designs are offered. The combination of a low-shear mixer with microwave energy drying in a single piece of equipment has solved one of the biggest challenges in the microwave industry: how to achieve uniform heat distribution. The commercial systems can be custom made in both horizontal and vertical tank designs, with capacities from laboratory scale to hundreds of cubic feet or more in size. The systems are especially suited for moisture reduction and dewatering applications in the food, chemical, mineral, plastic, and waste-to-energy industries.
