These bucket elevators offer capacities of up to 500 tn/hr and larger. They are designed to vertically move aggregate sand, rock, fertilizers, calcium carbonate, and other flowing powders or bulk solids. The material is fed to a hopper, where buckets attached to a belt or metal chain “scoop” the material and carry it upward, over a sprocket/pulley, and discharge the material. Centrifugal elevators operate at higher speeds and “eject” free-flowing materials, while continuous elevators operate at slower speeds and use gravity to discharge light, fluffy materials where aeration must be avoided.
