RMA Companies has acquired PRI Group, a provider of testing, product development, validation, and certification services to the asphalt, transportation, and building materials end-markets.

RMA has completed six acquisitions since December 2021, as it executes an aggressive growth strategy to build a national platform for testing and inspection services.

Founded in 1990, PRI provides independent third-party testing, evaluation, and other technical services for several critical infrastructure end-markets, including asphalt/bitumen, transportation, building materials, chemical, and energy. Through these services, PRI helps its clients test, validate, and certify the materials and products that are used in infrastructure and construction projects.

PRI’s team of scientists, engineers, and technicians operate out of laboratory facilities in Tampa, FL and Munster, IN, and are trained in over 1,000 normative standards, ASTM, AASHTO, ISO, and governmental test methods.

PRI’s Construction Materials business provides accredited testing, inspection, and product certification services for building materials, including roof coverings, fenestrations, claddings, glass, adhesives & sealants, paints & coatings, and thermal insulations. PRI’s building envelope services help clients comply with evolving building codes, driven by sustainability and climate resilience trends in the built environment.

The company's Asphalt Technologies business provides accredited testing, evaluation, and technical services to the asphalt industry from asphalt derivation through its lifecycle of use in paving, roofing, and industrial products, helping clients meet increasing technical and regulatory requirements.

“The addition of PRI supports our strategic expansion into the Southeast and bolsters our TICC (testing, inspection, certification and compliance) portfolio,” said Ed Lyon, CEO of RMA. “PRI is one of the preeminent providers of asphalt and construction materials testing and certification services. They have advanced lab capabilities in the development and evaluation of asphalt products."

He added thgat PRI's materials testing expertise will add to RMA's range of building envelope serivces.

“Over the past three decades, we have built a reputation of providing highly specialized testing, inspection, and certification services that meet the design or compliance requirements of infrastructure and construction projects throughout the country,” said Ken Grzybowski, PRI founder. “We have achieved success by focusing on customer needs, while leveraging our expert staff, industry knowledge, and state-of-the-art facilities & equipment.”
