Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) announced plans Tuesday to upgrade and modernize an existing animal feed facility in Quincy, IL.

“We are excited to invest in a new, state-of-the-art feed plant to serve our commercial and consumer customers throughout the United States,” president of ADM’s Animal Nutrition business, Brent Fenton, said in a statement. “Our new plant will centralize our Quincy production lines into a single, modern facility, allowing us to better and more efficiently meet customer needs, including increasing demand for unique pressed tubs., commercial feed, and specialty ingredients.”

The upgraded facility will contain a dedicated feed line for non-medicated products, automated packaging and process controls, unique pressed tubs for a variety of species, and expanded warehouse space. ADM said the new facility will have “enhanced capacity” to meet demand, and help serve their customers more quickly and efficiently.

The Decatur, IL-based company said it is presently working on permitting with local authorities and anticipates that construction will begin soon. The new plant has a targeted completion date of mid-2018.
