University Park, IL-based Bimba Manufacturing, a provider of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric motion solutions, has acquired vacuum technology maker Vaccon Company Inc. on Dec. 5, a Bimba press release announced.

“This acquisition reflects Bimba’s dedication to technology expansion and growth. The addition of Vaccon’s vacuum technology to our distribution channel increases Bimba’s strategic value in our targeted industries, including packaging, automotive, factory automation, and material handling,” said Pat Ormsby, president of Bimba, in a statement.

Founded in 1972 by Fick Ferri, Medway, MA-headquartered Vaccon will continue to operate in its current location and retain the present management led by Ellen Ferri.

“We are excited to be joining Bimba,” said Ferri in the release. “With the help of Bimba’s channel partners and financial strength, Vaccon will be able to expand its offerings of products and technology.”

According to Bimba, Vaccon’s products are regarded for their “rugged, yet simple ‘straight-through’ single-stage venture design,” that permits particles, dust, and other contaminants to pass through a pump without clogging or malfunctioning.

Terms of the transaction were not included in the company’s statement.
