The specialty adhesives line of Arkema, Bostik, opened a new manufacturing facility in Sweden to meet growing market demands in Northern Europe and the Baltic region, the company announced in a July 7 press release heralding the plant’s opening.

The facility will produce a number of cement-based construction products, including tile adhesives, mortars, and flooring-related products.

“We are delighted to expand our manufacturing presence in Europe and enhance our ability to serve construction customers in these high growth markets,” said Roland Albers, senior vice president of EMEA at Bostik, at the plant’s official inauguration on July 6, according to a statement. “International expansion in both established and emerging regions remains one of the central elements of our growth strategy and we will continue to invest in new facilities to ensure we effectively meet customer needs.”

Bostik, which has operated in Sweden since 1911, has also recently opened plants in the US, Mexico, Philippines, and Malaysia.
