Metso to Supply Lime Calcining System to OJSC Novolopetsk Steel in Russia

Metso will supply a lime calcining system to OJSC Novolopetsk Steel’s (NLMK) steel plant in Russia. Equipment delivery will be completed during the fourth quarter of 2011 and the refractory materials during the first quarter of 2012. The value of the order is not disclosed. The order is included in mining and construction technology’s Q2 orders received.

The delivery consists of a preheater rotary kiln lime plant, including process and equipment design, plant control system and project management. The delivery also includes erection and commissioning supervision services. The order will be delivered to NLMK’s existing facilities in Lipetsk, approximately 450 kilometers south of Moscow, as part of a planned expansion project.

This is the first Metso rotary kiln with preheater to be installed at NLMK and it is expected to produce 800 tons of lime per day, and increases the lime production by 250,000 tons per year.
