u5a0_127918.jpgIndustrial Vacuum for Combustible Dusts
The Model 860/02 is ideal for eliminating drum handling, and collecting and discharging powders in a safe, dust-free, and convenient way. The vacuum uses a field-proven air-powered vacuum cover with manual pulse-jet filter cleaning and non-stick filtration that captures 99.9% of particles as small as 0.5 microns. The rugged portable frame includes a collection hopper with an automatic discharge valve and polybag loading accessory. When the vacuum is turned off, the collected powder automatically discharges into an off-the-shelf static-conductive polybag. The vacuum is intrinsically safe with its fully grounded accessory kit, static-conductive filter media, and anti-sparking material inlet to allow the vacuum to be used in Class II, Div. 2 environments as required by OSHA. The high vacuum and low noise level of the vacuum add to the user-friendliness and cleanliness of your facility. Vac-U-Max, Belleville, NJ 800-822-8629 www.vac-u-max.com

Freeman TechnologyGraphical User Interface for Powder Rheometer
Flexible and intuitive, with an enhanced real-time data display, the new graphical user interface (GUI) for the FT4 powder rheometer enables all FT4 users, whether new to the system or experienced with it, to fully exploit its multi-functionality. The new software is being supplied with all new instruments and offered as a free upgrade to existing users. The rheometer combines shear, bulk, dynamic, and axial powder testing methodologies for comprehensive powder characterization. For new users the GUI provides step-by-step guidance on sample preparation and running tests, whereas experienced operators have complete flexibility to create, manage, and run user-specific protocols. ‘Characterization’ mode directs the user towards a combination of tests that provide a complete profile of a powder’s behavior while ‘Application’ modes offer test methods that support a particular process or unit operation. EriezElectromagnetic Screeners
These electromagnetic screeners size, scalp, or de-dust dry bulk solid materials. These linear screeners are available in a variety of drive designs to meet specific application requirements. B and C models are well suited for fine material separations. These high-frequency, 3600 vibrations per minute (3000 VPM @ 50 Hz) and low amplitude, .060 in. units are ideal for dedusting and other fines mesh (4 to 200 mesh) separation. Models are also available for Class II, Div. 1, Group F and G environments. Patented high deflection electromagnetic screeners offer the advantages of an electromagnetic design with the added benefit of high amplitude. Operating at a fixed 1800 vibrations per minute and approximately .1875 amplitude, HD models offer the nearly maintenance-free operation of Eriez’ electromagnetic design with high amplitude, similar to a mechanical screener. Horiba Instruments Inc.Particle Size and Particle Shape Analyzer
The design of the Camsizer XT is based on the proven optical particle measurement system of the Camsizer, but is optimized for finer samples. In addition to an improved optical resolution, the analyzer includes new options for material feeding that allow for an extended application range. Fine particles tend to agglomerate, which makes it difficult to record the properties of a single particle without changing the size or shape. This problem is compounded when considering the dispersive quality of the material being measured, whether it is pourable, dry, or wet. This analyzer offers the modular X-Change system with three alternative dispersion methods: pourable, not agglomerated particles (X-Fall module) are fed to the analysis area by a vibrating feeder; with the dry dispersion unit (X-Jet module) agglomerated particles can be accelerated and dispersed through a nozzle with adjustable overpressure; particles can be dispersed in liquids in the wet module (X-Flow), optionally with ultra sound. Therefore, it is possible to choose the optimum method for each sample type. Benefits include: digital image processing, according to ISO 13322-2, with patented two-camera-system; wide dynamic measuring range from 1 µm to 3 mm. K-Trong Process Group/K-Tron FeedersVibratory Loss-in-Weight Pharmaceutical Feeder
The K-PH-ML-D5-KV2 is a vibratory loss-in-weight feeder designed for the low rate addition of difficult flowing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Typical applications include vibratory feeding of cohesive APIs that normally would build up when fed via standard twin screw configurations. The feeder offers an easy-to-clean design, suitable where quick and easy cleaning is essential. The removable tray and end covers allow accessibility and ease in cleaning, and the 3-liter inlet funnel transition hopper is designed at a 65-degree slope for optimal flowability into the vibratory tray. The feeder offers a 20-liter extension hopper with optional lid, along with inlet tri-clamp and sanitary flexible bellows for complete isolation of the feeder. A lid option is also available with a sanitary vent filter which is affixed by a tri-clamp. All tri-clamps are FDA plastic bio-clamp construction, to minimize the overall weight of the feeder, and maximize feeder accuracy.
