SOCMA Welcomes 12 New Members

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) welcomed 12 new members, including manufacturers and service providers for the specialty chemical industry, who are looking to utilize SOCMA’s programs to improve their business and protect the community and environment in which they live. The new members were approved by SOCMA’s Board of Governors during an April 9, 2013, meeting in Washington, D.C.

“We are pleased to welcome this outstanding group of companies to SOCMA,” said president and CEO Lawrence D. Sloan. “We not only have a wealth of products and services to offer these new members, but a well-trained staff dedicated to helping them succeed in all areas that impact their business, from advocacy to regulatory support to networking and other services.”

“With an increased focus on environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S), many of our new members are particularly interested in SOCMA’s ChemStewards program,” Sloan said. “For example, MarChem was looking for a comprehensive way to coordinate EHS&S functions across all four of its manufacturing facilities, and Flouro-Seal, Piramal Critical Care, Synray, Norquay, and Materia all recognized the benefits of being part of a program that helps them optimize their performance, save money and enhance their roles as good corporate citizens.”

SOCMA also welcomes international company Shanghai T&W, as well as law firm Thompson Hine, and chemical and regulatory management firm Right Answer. Each of these companies is looking to utilize SOCMA’s networking opportunities to grow their business.
