British Rema Employee Wins SHAPA Newcomer Award

British Rema announces employee Jon Hall as winner of the Newcomer Award 2024 at the Solids Handling and Processing Association (SHAPA) AGM & Awards event.

The Newcomer Award is awarded to an individual who has contributed to a member company/organization or developed significantly in the field of bulk solids handling, contribution(s) in areas such as sales, design, innovation, apprenticeship or further studies that has/have greatly benefited themselves, their company or organization.

Hall joined British Rema in April 2022 as a sales engineer. New to the industry, he initially supported the incumbent commercial manager who trained and mentored him until announcing his retirement eight months later. Despite being in his mid-20s, Hall took up the challenge of the commercial role and also assumed responsibility for the installation and commissioning of a number of projects. He will also study Chemical Engineering at Hallam University to further his academic achievements.

“Jon is a very popular character, not only around the office and within British Rema but with the many customers he has dealt with since his appointment in 2022," said Tony Goodwin, group managing director of British Rema Group. "Jon has demonstrated, enthusiasm, dedication, professionalism, and responsibility to the task and at the same time has brought new and exciting ideas on how we drive the business forward.”

The award was presented at the event, which took place April 17, 2024 at the Maritime Museum in Liverpool, NW England in the UK.
