Firefighters were dispatched to the US Paper mill in Menasha, WI on Wednesday morning after a blaze ignited in a piece of equipment in the facility, local news organizations reported.

Called to the scene at about 6:30 a.m., crews from several area fire departments responded to the scene, coverage by WBAY said. Part of a local roadway was shut down during the incident.

Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered that a paper machine was ablaze and the facility was evacuated, according to news radio station WHBY. Crews were able to contain the flames to the equipment.

Industrial and consumer packaging products firm Sonoco acquired the mill in Menasha as a part of its purchase of US Paper in 2001.
