Specialty ingredients manufacturer Inolex revealed plans Tuesday to invest in a new production plant in Charlotte, NC that will replace its existing manufacturing and warehousing operations in the U.S.

The producer of beauty care product ingredients said the new 150,000-sq-ft “flagship” plant will improve the company’s production capabilities and contain room for future expansions.

“This is a significant investment to support the growth of our global platform. The flagship plant allows us to optimize our manufacturing processes and increase our production capacity so that we can continue to serve our customers and meet the growing global demand for our innovative technologies,” Inolex Chief Executive Officer David Plimpton said in a press release announcing the project. “The new Inolex facility also provides the opportunity for us to better align with our sustainability goals and those of our partners.”

Inolex intends to open the facility after work reaches completion in the second half of next year.

The Philadelphia-based company sold its industrial lubricants division in 2016 to sharpen its focus on the Beauty Care market, according to information on Inolex’s website.
