SOCMA Welcomes 14 New Members in First Half of Year

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) welcomed four new members companies on July 17 that are looking to the association for resources and expertise to not only develop business opportunities but also address advocacy and environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) issues. The new members were approved by SOCMA’s Board of Governors during a meeting in Washington, DC.

“SOCMA is pleased to welcome these four companies, which brings the total number of new members this year to 14,” said Dave Hurder, chairman of SOCMA’s Board of Governors and vice president of McGean. “SOCMA has long been an advocate for the specialty chemical industry and continually strives to create a favorable business climate in which manufacturers and service providers can grow, innovate and compete in world markets.

“As SOCMA members, these companies also have access to tools such as the ChemStewards Integrated Management System and the Chemical Services Directory, which will be great assets as they look to improve their EHS&S management efforts, better market their products and find new business.”

“There’s no doubt that SOCMA membership is an excellent way to enhance our business,” said Chuck Stieg, president of Manufacturers Chemicals. “The array of programs and services offered is impressive.” The level of expertise in the Government Relations and ChemStewards programs also attracted Manufacturers Chemicals to SOCMA.
