The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) welcomes 12 new members, including manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and service providers for the specialty chemical industry, who are looking to SOCMA for training, advocacy, and networking opportunities to improve and grow their businesses.

The new members were approved by SOCMA’s Board of Governors at a December 10, 2013, meeting in New York.

“The time to join SOCMA couldn’t be better for this outstanding group of new members,” said SOCMA president and CEO Lawrence D. Sloan. “With enhancements to our ChemStewards program and Marketplace and Chemical Services Directory, coupled with the return of our Leadership and Business Development Forum this spring and our expanding advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, these companies will have access to a wealth of products and services that will assist them as they grow their business, innovate, and compete in the global marketplace.”

The information and expertise in environmental, health, safety, and security issues provided through SOCMA’s ChemStewards program is one of many reasons CJB Industries Inc. chose to make an investment in SOCMA, according to CJB president Clinton Beeland. CJB also plans to capitalize on opportunities to network, learn, grow, and share with other members of the chemical manufacturing industry as part of its SOCMA membership.
