Sealed Air Receives Packaging Innovation Award from DuPont

Sealed Air Corporation received a Silver Award from DuPont for its Korrvu Lok packaging design at the 28th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, Sealed Air announced Tuesday.

The DuPont Packaging Awards program is an independently-judged competition that recognizes developments in packaging design, technology, materials and processes. Of 170 total entries, 22 packages were selected to be honored this year. The Korrvu Lok was one of nine items to receive a Silver Award.

“The design is easy to open, easy to reuse and recycle, and enables effortless reverse logistics if the customer needs to make a return,” Sealed Air’s press release noted. “The elegant visual design also enhances the brand of the items inside, as well as the consumer experience.”

According to the company’s description, the Korrvu Lok’s design is manufactured with less material compared with previous designs and utilizes a standard corrugated fiberboard frame that is easy to recycle and complies with national and international recycling requirements. The need for filler materials, like foam “popcorn,” is eliminated by the design’s ability to lock items inside the packaging in place with its own structure.
