Powder Technology Expo – South America Kicks Off Today

For the first time in Brazil, PTX South America will bring together the many industries that are looking for solutions for storage, handling, and processing of fine particles and dry bulk solids

With the aim of transforming Brazil into a talking point and an international center for business in the powder technology industry, and consequently bringing together the biggest purchasers from the most important sectors of the industry, UBM Brazil – international promoter of business and trade fairs will hold PTX South America from August 21-23 at the Transamerica Expo Center.

The event, which will be held as a parallel event to CPhI South America, will bring together not only the pharmaceutical and pharma-chemical industries but also colorings and pigments, rubbers and plastics, detergents and cosmetics, fertilizers, mining, food and civil construction, and there will also be a congress that will handle issues such as processing technologies, instrumentation and control, conveying systems, environmental controllers, etc.

Among the launches planned for PTX, professionals visiting the fair will be able to see Nederman products, a company that has already taken part in the event in Chicago and which is expecting to show the Brazilian market the problems caused by particles in dispersion generated by production processes and how to solve them. Equipment and suction systems, filtering and cleaning of particles generated in industrial processes, receptacles or localized suction, fixed, mobile and modular filters, mobile and centralized industrial vacuum cleaners, will all be part of the portfolio of products presented by the company.

Another highlight of the event is the participation of GEA do Brasil, who operate in the fields of energy, environment and process engineering and specializes in the production of equipment for thermal exchange, and who design and manufacture various types of heat exchangers and will also offer maintenance and repair services with original parts.

Based on innovative technology, Velki will bring its line of measuring and control instruments for vacuuming, pressure, ullage and solid ullage, as well as accessories to PTX South America. A leader for more than 75 years in the relief and pressure mechanisms market and the first manufacturer of rupture discs, BS&B Safety Systems has also confirmed its presence at the event, offering the sector an international network for engineering, manufacture, and support services with products that range from rupture discs, graphite discs, safety heads, explosion vents and valves of the fine and buckling type as well as sensors and monitors.

Also presenting new developments in flexible packaging for transportation and storage of solid products in powder or granular form, Sanwey will present the Sanbag, a flexible container bag, whose intended use is in the transportation and storage of solid products in powder or granular and equipped with models suitable for mechanical handling, and which are designed to take a working load of between 500 and 2000kg. The materials used for the handles, body, and thread polypropylene.

A specialist in TI, Agtech will provide attendees with a platform of complete solutions, made up of personalized products and services.

Dynamic Air will put its installations on show, which have a pilot plant for tests on an industrial scale, representing the state-of-the-art in pneumatic conveying, where materials will be analyzed to determine the exact characteristics needed for conveying.

For Cassiano Facchinetti, event manager, the current scenario in Brazil’s economy has made it possible for PTX to come to Brazil. “The increase in productivity in various industries is increasing the amount of investment in purchase of equipment, development of new technologies, research and development hubs and workforce employment, considerably increasing the number of sectors of the economy that use fine particles in their manufacturing processes or which have some sort of powder as a by-product of their production process,” explains Cassiano.

During the event, attendees will have access to the entire supply chain of equipment for environmental and pollution control, transportation and storage, reducers, handling of solids in food processing, separation, sorting and filtering systems and equipment, powder and bulk solid dryers, chemical process technologies, thermal processors, analysis and characterization of particle, mixers, weighing systems and scales, processing and mixtures, instrumentation and control, packing and sealing, special pneumatic conveying systems, industrial protection against fire, services among others.
